Overview of the BSc - CLINICAL NUTRITION & DIETETICS Course

The BSc Nutrition and Dietetics program is a three-year undergraduate food and nutrition degree that focuses on the science of nutrition and its role in promoting health and preventing disease. This clinical nutrition and dietetics degree prepares students to understand how macronutrients, therapeutic nutrition, and diet quality contribute to individual and community well-being. As a specialized Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, the course combines theory with practical exposure, making it one of the most career-oriented nutrition courses after 12th for science students. Students gain knowledge in clinical nutrition, public health nutrition, and dietary planning for different medical conditions.

Program Objectives

The BSc Nutrition and Dietetics program aims to provide students with a strong scientific foundation in nutritional science, therapeutic dietetics, and practical applications. The key objectives of the program are:

  • Build a scientific understanding of macronutrients, metabolism, food science, and dietary patterns
  • Develop research competency in designing, conducting, and interpreting clinical nutrition and dietetics studies

  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks (may vary as per university norms)
